For Submission to God’s Will

O Holy Spirit, beloved of my soul, I adore you. Enlighten me, guide me, strengthen me, console me. Tell me what I should do; give me your orders. I promise to submit myself to all that you desire of me and to accept all that you permit to happen to me. Let me only know your will. Amen.

The Feast of the Holy Innocents

The children of Bethlehem, killed on Herod's order when the wise men did not come back to tell him where the child was. Matthew gives them three verses and no names, and no other ancient source records the killing at all. The Church has kept them since antiquity as martyrs who witnessed to nothing they understood, and has never agreed on how many they were or, in the end, minded.
