Eastertide
The leader reads the regular text. The people read the bold text.
O Lord, open our lips;
And our mouth shall proclaim your praise.
O God, make speed to save us;
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Isaiah 40:3
Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:10-11
From the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts.
Malachi 1:11
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matthew 3:2
Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which was brought upon me, which the Lord inflicted on the day of his fierce anger.
Lamentations 1:12
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Colossians 3:1
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:14, 16
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
Acts 1:8
Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!
Revelation 4:8
The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him.
Habakkuk 2:20
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your holy Spirit from me.
O give me the comfort of your help again, and sustain me with your willing Spirit.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Psalm 51:10-12
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
I was glad when they said unto me, “We will go into the house of the Lord.”
Now our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem.
Jerusalem is built as a city that is at unity in itself.
For there the tribes go up, even the tribes of the Lord, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks unto the Name of the Lord.
For there is the throne of judgment, even the throne of the house of David.
O pray for the peace of Jerusalem; they shall prosper that love you.
Peace be within your walls and plenteousness within your palaces.
For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will wish you prosperity.
Indeed, because of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek to do you good.
Psalm 122
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Unto you I lift up my eyes, you who are enthroned in the heavens.
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden to the hand of her mistress,
Even so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until he show us his favor.
Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us, for we have suffered more than enough contempt.
Long has our soul suffered the scorn of the wealthy and the spitefulness of the proud.
Psalm 123
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
I love the Lord, because he heard the voice of my prayer,
Because he inclined his ear to me; therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
The snares of death encompassed me, and the pains of the Grave laid hold of me; I suffered trouble and sorrow.
Then I called upon the Name of the Lord: “O Lord, I beseech you, deliver my soul.”
Gracious is the Lord and righteous; indeed, our God is full of compassion.
The Lord preserves the simple; I was in misery, and he helped me.
Turn again to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has rewarded you.
You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.
I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
I believed, and therefore will I speak: “I am greatly troubled.” I said in my haste, “All men are liars.”
What shall I give unto the Lord for all the benefits that he has done unto me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation and call upon the Name of the Lord.
I will pay my vows unto the Lord in the presence of all his people; dear in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
O Lord, I am your servant; I am your servant, and the child of your handmaid; you have broken my bonds asunder.
I will offer you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and will call upon the Name of the Lord.
I will pay my vows unto the Lord in the sight of all his people, in the courts of the Lord’s house, even in the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise the Lord.
Psalm 116
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
O praise the Lord, all you nations; praise him, all you peoples.
For great is his loving-kindness towards us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures for ever. Praise the Lord.
Psalm 117
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Give thanks unto the Lord, for he is gracious; his mercy endures for ever.
Let Israel now confess that he is gracious, that his mercy endures for ever.
Let the house of Aaron now confess that his mercy endures for ever.
Indeed, let those who fear the Lord confess that his mercy endures for ever.
I called upon the Lord in trouble, and the Lord heard me and set me free.
The Lord is on my side; I will not fear what man can do to me.
The Lord takes my side with those who help me; therefore shall I look in triumph on my enemies.
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put any confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put any confidence in princes.
All the nations encompass me, but in the Name of the Lord will I cut them off.
They hem me in on every side; indeed, they hem me in on every side, but in the Name of the Lord will I cut them off.
They come about me like bees, and blaze like fire among the thorns, but in the Name of the Lord will I cut them off.
I was thrust aside so that I almost fell, but the Lord was my help.
The Lord is my strength and my song, and has become my salvation.
The voice of joy and deliverance is in the dwellings of the righteous; the right hand of the Lord brings mighty things to pass.
The right hand of the Lord is exalted; the right hand of the Lord brings mighty things to pass.
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
The Lord has chastened and corrected me, but he has not given me over to death.
Open unto me the gates of righteousness, that I may go into them, and give thanks unto the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter into it.
I will thank you, for you have heard me, and have become my salvation.
The same stone which the builders refused has become the chief cornerstone.
This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Help me now, O Lord; O Lord, send us now prosperity.
Blessed is he who comes in the Name of the Lord; we bless you from the house of the Lord.
God is the Lord, who has shown us light; bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar.
You are my God, and I will thank you; you are my God, and I will exalt you.
O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is gracious; his mercy endures for ever.
Psalm 118
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Amen.
The Lord is my shepherd; therefore I can lack nothing.
He shall feed me in green pastures and lead me forth beside the waters of comfort.
He shall refresh my soul and bring me forth in the paths of righteousness for his Name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me.
You shall prepare a table before me, in the presence of those who trouble me; you have anointed my head with oil, and my cup shall be full.
Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalm 23
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
1 Peter 1:3
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

And in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

who for us men and for our salvation

ascended into the heavens,

And in the Holy Spirit.

Preamble
Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the Catholic Faith.
Which Faith except every one do keep whole and undefiled, without doubt he shall perish everlastingly.
And the Catholic Faith is this, that we worship one God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity, neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the Substance.
Of the Trinity
For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, and another of the Holy Ghost.
But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, is all One, the Glory Equal, the Majesty Co-Eternal.
Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Ghost.
The Father Uncreate, the Son Uncreate, and the Holy Ghost Uncreate.
The Father Incomprehensible, the Son Incomprehensible, and the Holy Ghost Incomprehensible.
The Father Eternal, the Son Eternal, and the Holy Ghost Eternal.
And yet they are not Three Eternals, but One Eternal.
As also there are not Three Uncreated, nor Three Incomprehensibles, but One Uncreated, and One Incomprehensible.
So likewise the Father is Almighty, the Son Almighty, and the Holy Ghost Almighty.
And yet they are not Three Almighties, but One Almighty.
So the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God.
And yet they are not Three Gods, but One God.
So likewise the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Ghost Lord.
And yet not Three Lords, but One Lord.
For, like as we are compelled by the Christian Verity to acknowledge every Person by Himself to be God and Lord, so are we forbidden by the Catholic Religion to say, There be Three Gods, or Three Lords.
Of the Processions
The Father is made of none, neither created, nor begotten.
The Son is of the Father alone; not made, nor created, but begotten.
The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten, but proceeding.
So there is One Father, not Three Fathers; one Son, not Three Sons; one Holy Ghost, not Three Holy Ghosts.
And in this Trinity none is afore or after other; none is greater or less than another;
But the whole Three Persons are Co-eternal together, and Co-equal.
So that in all things, as is aforesaid, the Unity in Trinity, and the Trinity in Unity is to be worshipped.
He therefore that will be saved must thus think of the Trinity.
Of the Incarnation
Furthermore, it is necessary to everlasting Salvation, that he also believe rightly the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For the right Faith is, that we believe and confess, that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man;
God, of the Substance of the Father, begotten before the worlds; and Man, of the Substance of his Mother, born in the world;
Perfect God and Perfect Man, of a reasonable Soul and human Flesh subsisting;
Equal to the Father, as touching his Godhead; and inferior to the Father, as touching his Manhood.
Who, although he be God and Man, yet he is not two, but One Christ;
One, not by conversion of the Godhead into Flesh, but by taking of the Manhood into God;
One altogether, not by confusion of Substance, but by Unity of Person.
For as the reasonable soul and flesh is one Man, so God and Man is one Christ.
Perfectus Deus, perfectus homo:
ex anima rationali et humana carne subsistens.
Æqualis Patri secundum divinitatem:
minor Patre secundum humanitatem.
Of the Last Things
Who suffered for our Salvation, descended into Hell, rose again the third day from the Dead.
He ascended into Heaven, He sitteth on the right hand of the Father, God Almighty, from whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies, and shall give account for their own works.
And they that have done good shall go into life everlasting; and they that have done evil, into everlasting fire.
This is the Catholic Faith, which except a man believe faithfully, he cannot be saved. Amen.
tertia die resurrexit a mortuis.
Ascendit ad cælos, sedet ad dexteram Dei Patris omnipotentis.
Inde venturus est judicare vivos et mortuos.
Ad cujus adventum omnes homines resurgere habent cum corporibus suis;

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom and the power
and the glory, forever. Amen.
cf. Matthew 6:9-13

Pater noster, qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua,
sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum supersubstantialem da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra,
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo.
Quia tuum est regnum, et potestas,
et gloria in saecula. Amen.

O Lord, our heavenly Father, almighty and everlasting God, you have brought us safely to the beginning of this day: Defend us by your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin nor run into any danger; and that, guided by your Spirit, we may do what is righteous in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the Cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.
Let us bless the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore. Amen.
2 Corinthians 13:14
May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Romans 15:13
Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine: Glory to him from generation to generation in the Church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.
