Morning Readings

Eastertide

The leader reads the regular text. The people read the bold text.

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:1

Lætatus sum

I was glad when they said unto me, “We will go into the house of the Lord.”
Now our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is built as a city that is at unity in itself.

For there the tribes go up, even the tribes of the Lord, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks unto the Name of the Lord.

For there is the throne of judgment, even the throne of the house of David.

O pray for the peace of Jerusalem; they shall prosper that love you.

Peace be within your walls and plenteousness within your palaces.

For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will wish you prosperity.

Indeed, because of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek to do you good.

Psalm 122

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Ad te levavi oculos meos

Unto you I lift up my eyes, you who are enthroned in the heavens.
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden to the hand of her mistress,

Even so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until he show us his favor.

Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us, for we have suffered more than enough contempt.

Long has our soul suffered the scorn of the wealthy and the spitefulness of the proud.

Psalm 123

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

The Collect

Almighty God, you gave your only Son to be for us both a sacrifice for sin and an example of godly living: Give us grace thankfully to receive his inestimable benefits, and daily to follow the blessed steps of his most holy life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

The Third Sunday of Easter

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all evermore. Amen.
